Happy Jummah Day

Good things to do this lovely sunny Jummah Day:

- Read the Quran, my grandmother always reads Surat Qaaf, Surah Mohammad and
Surah Jummah on Fridays and makes us do so too.
- Wear your best clothes or any new clothes you have bought (where else are you going to
wear your nice Eid togs again?)
- Send food to a neighbour
- If you can afford to, buy a loved one a small gift (I take nuts, fruit or Indian sweets for my
parents and gran)
Narrated by Jabir ibn Abdullah the Prophet (Sal-allahu-aleihi-wassallam) said: Friday is divided into twelve hours. Amongst them there is an hour in which a Muslim does not ask Allah for anything but He gives it to him. So seek it in the last hour after the afternoon prayer. (Abu Dawud)

Narrated Abu Sa’id Prophet (Sal-allahu-aleihi-wassallam) said "It is incumbent on every one who has attained to puberty that he should take a bath on Friday, and that he should use the tooth-brush, and that he should use scent if he can get it." (Bukahri 11:3)

“Joy does not simply happen to us. We have to choose it every day. It is a choice based on the knowledge that we belong to God and have found in God our refuge and our safety and that nothing, not even death, can take God from us. Joy is the experience of knowing that you are unconditionally loved and that nothing – sickness, failure, emotional distress, oppression, war, or even death – can take that love away.” ~ Henri Nouwen
