I booked two days off this week to help Little Man settle into nursery. He has been looking forward to this for a very long time. Every time we drop Little Lady off, he announces that it’s his school too. We potty-trained him with a promise of if you go to the loo like a big boy you can go to school and it worked a treat. So it was a bit galling to call this morning to confirm with the school and be told that they didn’t receive our confirmation and didn’t allot him a place. My husband visited the school and tried to explain that we sent the letter but it didn’t make any difference. I felt terrible for Little Man.
But I know that Allah (SWT) is love mercy and that everything he sends for us has good in it. I have been thinking for a long time about home-schooling but didn’t feel I could do much working full-time. Well now is my chance to try some things with him and see how it goes. He won’t be able to mix with the other children as much and do some of the things they do at nursery (like Little Lady when she had farm animals visit her nursery once and a fire engine another time), but we will have to think of some alternatives.
I know there are numerous sisters out there home-schooling their children and I will be looking to them for guidance and inspiration insh’Allah.
