Ramadan Basket

I wasn't planning to make any of these, but had the stickers and wanted to take my uncle's family something special when they invited us to share iftar with them. I used a basket I had at home (to store my printing stamps and inks), similar ones can be found at the £ or dollar-store at various times of the year.

I used an idea I saw last year at The Muslim Homeschool website and absolutely loved. I put messages on sticky labels and stuck them on simple store-brand chocolate biscuit-bars (penguin, club, kit-kat, shops-own etc).

I lined the basket with tissue paper and placed a scarf, kufi (men's prayer hat), prayer beads, dates and the chocolates. Last year I also added this excellent prayer-book in each basket I gave to friends and family.
