I have long adored henna and every now and again have ago at creating a pattern, Little Lady also loves the stuff and harasses me into drawing a new pattern on her hand as soon as the previous one has worn off. I loved the idea of being able to do this well, but don't have the time to attend a course, also my mum keeps telling me and my sisters that one of us should learn (I think she likes it too). Anyway, I thought I would practice on Little Lady and see if I can get the knack. I tried this design from the very talented Catharine Hinton-Brawn's site Henna Cat.
I need to keep practicing, and Little Lady is a very willing guinea-pig so if I can find time I hope to get better. BTW if you are interested in learning more about henna, a good place to start is Sister Lubna's Mehendi Ke Rang.

Asalaam alaikum, OMG, it's GORGEEEEEEEOUUS!!!!!!!!! You did fantastic, I love it, maashaAllah. I wish you could do mine!!!! Thanks for the link, I will check it out. I too love henna designs, but I am absolutely no good at drawing anything. But I am telling you, this is REALLY good, well done!
ReplyDeleteAssalam-alaikam Sister Mumina,
ReplyDeletehow kind of you, I have been practising on my little cousins. I told them they were my "mehndi models", they were very pleased with themselves.
I bet if you had a cone and practised on your girls, you would be good at this in no time.
Assalamualaikum,
ReplyDeleteThe last time I had henna was about 12 years ago and it's not like we had any intricate patterns! Back then, I recalled helping my aunts to grind the leaves and slabbing the gook all over. Haha~ Sure brought back fond memories. :)
W'salam,
Hajar
Lovely beautiful Henna
