Ramadan Kareem Banner

I had planned to make this before Ramadan, but had found no spare time at all in which to attempt it. So when I invited my parents and siblings over for iftar yesterday, I decided to put this together after fajr (the dawn prayer). The letters were printed off on plain white paper and then painted yellow with an odd tube of yellow oil paint I found (poster paint mixed with glue would probably be perfect).


I then covered the wet letters with gold glitter (and managed to get it all over the carpet):

I mounted the letters onto green triangles...

...and stuck them onto green ribbon.

I wish I had had the time to create something more elaborate, but I think the message is clear enough ;) I have lots of ideas for an Eid banner insh'Allah with more layers and colours, if I get half a chance insh'Allah.

I might add some gold stars and crescent moons next year to the same banner (pink roses courtesy of Fashionista).
