Fashionista's Nikah

I was honoured to host Fashionista's nikah at my home earlier this month.   We had close family there and the grooms close family also attended.

We all mucked in to get the house ready and mum and I split the cooking between us.

Everyone was very quiet until the nikah had taken place, after which there were smiles, hugs and congratulations all round.

The groom side brought along nuts, sweets and dried fruit as tradition dictates, which was handed out after the nikah had taken place.

The meal was followed by the cake cutting.

It was a lovely, laid-back day with everyone genuinely happy and lots of laughter, good food and good humour.  It was a nice way for the two extended families to get to know each other a little better without the chaos and busy-ness of the wedding day.

  1. I just love weddings :) :) :) What a wonderful thing Allah has created... As if He created a piece of paradise on earth for someone who is blessed with a righteous and loving spouse.. Alhamdulillah! May Allah bless this couple to love each other for His Sake, and to be helpers for each other towards Paradise. Aameen!

  2. What a lovely tradition! I think I would enjoy the casual, intimate setting. I am assuming this is a pre-wedding family party?
