We visited the Natural History Museum with the
children yesterday and the mineral and rock collection scattered across
different parts of the museum is brilliant. I couldn't stop taking
pictures and this is one of my favourite:
I thought it was amethyst at first, but this is a rare kind of Fluorite
called Blue John only found in Derbyshire, England, a source which is almost exhausted. The banded patterning on it is just beautiful, subhan'Allah for Allah's creations.
