Ramadan 2019/1440: Thought of the Day 1

I mentioned in a previous post that my tajweed class teacher had given me a gift at the end of the course which included a box of quotes, one for each day of Ramadan to reflect on:

Each quote has a number on the back and the quote for day 1 of Ramadan reads:

“Live life as if everything is rigged in your favour.” – Maulana Rumi

There is something very modern about this quote, it makes me think of self help books and affirmations.  But also, something very optimistic, innocent and perhaps a little naïve.  What a wonderful, positive outlook on life to have.  If we all trusted Allah (SWT) implicitly and that He loves and always want the best for us, then perhaps this is how joyfully and gratefully we would live our lives.
