Giving Day 23: Orphans in Need
Orphans
in Need is a British charity dedicated to improving and empowering the lives of
vulnerable orphans and widows. A UK based organisation, they operate throughout
the world supporting 20,000 orphans in 14 countries. In 2015, Orphans in Need
won the British Muslim Awards Muslim Charity of
the Year Award for its notable work in the field of humanitarian relief.
Their orphan
sponsorship programme provides an education, food, healthcare, medical
support and the loving care that any child needs, in some of the most deprived
communities in the world. Their Global
Orphan Care programme goes beyond giving aid to orphanages, it includes
supporting unsponsored children and orphaned families.
Their
current campaigns include
iftar and suhoor food parcels, a coronavirus appeal and an Orphans' Village
project, that delivers quality care and facilities, and gives orphaned children
the opportunities for a brighter future through education and skills.
