Ramadan Giving Day 25: RAM HEI
RAM HEI was founded in late 2016 as a response to the
growing lack of access to basic human needs in Nigeria such as food and primary
health care services. Nigeria is part of the countries in the bottom half of
the globe with poor health services. Most of the Nigerian population are at a
disadvantage and have no access to basic health or social care. More so, the
masses are at the receiving end of bad leadership, corruption, conflicts, and
war which have become part of the social problems of the world, especially
Africa and other developing and the underdeveloped countries.
RAM HEI will not only strive to address determinants of
health and wellbeing through health improvement provide but will also engage
various stakeholders to better health and well-being of the population of
Nigeria.
Their current projects
include free health checks in local communities to identify illnesses such as
high blood pressure, stroke, heart diseases, diabetes, and depression, EMPOWER
a pilot programme aimed at tackling unemployment and also the Big Feed which
provides food parcels for widows, elderly, unemployed and those that are
government officials who have not received salaries for over three months.
O you who have believed, spend
from that which We have provided for you ~ Quran 2:254
Narrated Ibn ‘Abbas: “The
Prophet ṣallallāhu 'alayhi wa sallam (peace and blessings of Allāh be upon him)
was the most generous person, and he used to become more so (generous)
particularly in the month of Ramadan…more generous than the fast wind in doing good”
(Bukhari).
The Prophet ṣallallāhu 'alayhi
wa sallam (peace and blessings of Allāh be upon him) said: “The believer’s
shade on the Day of Resurrection will be his charity.” (Al-Tirmidhi)
"Who is it that would
loan Allah a goodly loan so He may multiply it for him many times over? And it
is Allah who withholds and grants abundance, and to Him you will be
returned." ~ Quran 2:245
Prophet ṣallallāhu 'alayhi wa
sallam (peace and blessings of Allāh be upon him) said: "The best of
people are those that bring most benefit to the rest of mankind." (Daraqutni)
