Ramadan 2020/1441: Ramadan Gratitude Journal Day 15

What sound are you grateful for?
I love laughing and I love laughter
I love it when my mum calls me Farri, a shortened version of my name.
I love the sound of glass bangles; they remind me of my mum when I was a child.
With a big family and noisy household, every now and again I am grateful for the sound of quiet (or does that not count?)
I love the sound of thunder, so dramatic and thrilling.
The sound of bird song at dawn when I am alone in the garden before everyone wakes up.
The sound of ocean waves, or even just the water lapping at a lake shore.

The sound of the Quran whilst I am cooking in the kitchen, so moving.

The sound of my oldest genuine laughter, she is such a grump, her laughter is rare and lifts me.
The chatter of my youngest, so cheerful and cheeky, my irrepressible mini-me alhamdulillah.

But the sound that I have been most grateful for every time, is that first baby cry.
You know the one that tells you the travails of labour are (mostly) over and that baby is ok?
The utter relief, the euphoria, the gratefulness of a newborn’s first cry are utterly incomparable

What sound are you grateful for?
